Restless

About Restless

I've been nagged my whole life by the feeling something is buried inside, just waiting for me to untangle my tongue.  (There may be nothing but that feeling, but it makes no difference.)

Here I hope to untangle my attempts to make art, by looking at old projects and current interests, and give a sense of what drives the (my) creative impulse.

The fresh spark of a new idea is my favorite thing.  So a few years ago I gave in to my interests and, along with an explosion of ideas, caught a bad case of creative greed: I wanted to uncover the patterns linking those interests and lift enough substance to the surface to get a glimpse of the whole.

And I wanted to pursue the light that comes on when something breaks through the Everyday.  Call me a dilettante, but what better way to find the heart of creativity than follow that light wherever it leads?  And what's the point of doing creative work if you let it trap you like a clerk in a cubicle, prisoner to some niche?

Note that I do edit items after posting them; it seems to take the pressure of publishing to hammer out the final form.

And yes, the picture above is of a universe full of LOVE.  I found it at some New Age web site, as digital wallpaper beneath the stupefyingly dull revelations of ancient oracles (channeled through herbal soap salesmen) too restless and greedy to stay buried and let the living get on with life, undisturbed...
