Chance world map

To clear the mental palate...

I took this picture (with a crude Palm camera) when I walked across the Williamsburg bridge.

It must be from the bottom of a maintenance worker's paint can, and I thought it looked like a world map.

Note that I could have titled this "The world at my feet" but I've probably been megalomaniacal enough this week.

I loved this. It is reminiscent of a series of line drawings by some artist whose name escapes me, entitled "Map of the World from Memory", which was incredibly detailed but intriguingly aschew (askew? spelling?).

I don't think you were meglomaniacal, Kurt, I think you are just angry and upset, we all are, and I like your expression of 'cleaning your mental palate'. I need to clean mine. I worried a little that I was getting too bogged down in Lebanon (re. what I was posting on my blog), but I couldn't *not* mention it, it's been so much in my head, and I've felt sapped by it all, trying keep up, it's so damned complex. But hopefully things have calmed down and I can go back to documenting my own personal daily 'disasters' . . .

It does look like the world map. Imagine your noticing. And having your camera handy.

Yes Brooks, even a crappy camera like mine is a handy thing to have...
