Clear cups

This picture began life as a photo of clear plastic cups, paper-clipped in a bunch, hanging against a window in Brooklyn.

A nice thing about art is that it gives you license to feel deeply about strange things like color.

For whatever reason, I'm really fond of the color you get by mixing orange and green -- mixed so it looks orange-ish and green-ish at the same time.  I have two t-shirts that color, that I keep in spite of their deteriorating condition.  Where some see "olive drab" or "army green," I see an alchemical mixture.

I'm also extremely fond of certain shades of blue.  I have burned an obscene number of eyeball and brain cells trying to come up with the blue-est blue: one with no trace of green or red in it.  Next time you look at a blue, ask yourself: does it lean toward green, or red?

See this for another clear cup picture.
