Mystery complex

(Yes I have one of those...)

I saw this shiny complex and wondered: is it a new art museum?  a new spaceship terminal?

Turns out it's a "water pollution treatment plant" (a nice way to say "sewage treatment plant").  Appropriately, it sits on Newtown Creek, one of the first, and most polluted, industrial canals in the U.S.

After looking at other big treatment plants (Industry Projects link here), I can testify that this facility puts the rest to shame.
