
I normally don't like "arty" photos -- that focus on a precious scene or detail that "looks like art" because it fulfills some cliché -- but I do like walking through the hinterlands of Long Island City along Hunters Point Ave. (centered on 30th St. [map]), and the area lends itself to arty shots.

Below left, a contorted window guard on 30th Pl. near the LIE that reminds me of 3D wireframe images. Then below right, a sight I saw one frigid day from the Ave. that looks like the sculptures put out by Roxy Paine's PMU.
