State of the Union

Angry American at 123 5th Ave.

I didn't watch Obama's speech last night and I'm glad I didn't, since anything short of a 5 minute scorching of the audience...

You people make me sick!  Subtract the spineless, heartless and mindless, and I'm talking to myself up here!  You sorry ingrates DESERVE Sarah Palin and, So Help Me God, if you push me any further I'm going to give you to her -- and don't come crying to me when she cedes Homeland Security to Jack Bauer and a security guard is sawing off your thumb to get you to admit who stole the cookies from the cookie jar!!!

...would have disappointed me.

I appreciate Obama -- he actually wants to solve problems, and he insists on
understanding them before he acts.  But...

...given the political culture here, where it's been incredibly easy for opponents to hijack reality and suggest Obama should have solved all these deadly problems (most of them, including that political culture, thanks to the GOP since Reagan) in his first week...

...I think he needs to throw off whatever Christ or Mandela -like impulse it is that drives him to treat his enemies with so much unreciprocated decency, when they are doing all they can to make sure he fails.

And if Obama fails, this nation fails.  If Democrats don't get on the right side of the angry divide here -- opposite Wall Street and big money -- and if FOX/GOP is allowed to continue as a political force, in spite of the fact that it doesn't even pretend to want to solve problems, this nation fails.

It makes me tired just thinking about all the energy wasted on FOX/GOP.  They are civilization-wreckers, and have fun doing it.  Life is so much easier when you don't care about anything but your own skin.
